about

The first album from hip-hop artist Jamarc

credits

released August 1, 2015

Thanks to all the people who've influenced, inspired and given me guidance through the years. Thank you JPS for helping me develop as a performance/studio artist. James, Sleaze, Ant, Drano, Caine, Quartni, Ohbliv, Ruff Handz, Nyce, Draztiq, Ripps, Graphic, Harrison, Dreamweapons, all you guys have a special place in my memories. Thank you to the man behind the boards, Joe Ritzik, without you this project may not have sounded half as good. Thank you to all the musicians I've met along the way, all the venues that support open mics and Richmond for being the proving grounds for my passion. Thank you Slam Richmond for giving me the opportunity to find myself and help others find themselves as well. Thank you Michelle for encouraging me to do what I like to do regardless of anybody else's opinions. Thank you Kwame Ture, although you may never hear this, I would love to chat with you in person someday. Thank you Adrian for helping me to realize that my art is better for the haters and showing me that I still have the courage necessary to fight injustice. Thank you unjust SoundCloud producer for showing me that fuck boys still exist and need to be extinguished. Thank you anime, old Jazz albums and video games for being there when I felt alone, hopefully my music can support others in similar ways. Thank you America for giving me hope in humanity. Thank you Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X for giving me literature to pass on to our people who have been lost for so long, I hope that one day our eyes will open wide enough to see past the sun.

If you aren't listed here it's mainly just because we haven't gotten to that point yet. Look out for more stuff from me, I will always write but I'm also learning the finer points of production. Keep up.

Jamarc Richmond, Virginia

A solo recording and performance artist from Richmond, VA, Jamarc's sound is the soulful translation of a gritty east coast lifestyle.

Considered "progressive", "intelligent", and sometimes brutally honest, he is largely influenced by 90s culture.

Emotionally charged and lyrically clever, Jamarc hopes to reach an international audience.
